The best way to get connected with The Journey is to join us for one of our Sunday Gatherings!  We gather each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.  You will walk into a warm, friendly, diverse, and memorable worship & teaching experience!

SUNDAY MORNINGS  10:30 - 11:45 am

We offer childcare for children in 6th grade and under during our Gathering.

This is not a fashion show, so dress how you feel comfortable.

We encourage everyone to get in a Grow Group!  They are designed to help you grow in your relationship with God and with other people.

Grow Groups are more than Bible Studies.  They are designed to help you grow in your relationship with God, grow in your relationships with other people who are following God, and be a part of growing the whole family of God!

Our groups use a simple format that anyone can learn to lead at home, in their neighborhood, on their job, or in the community. You can join an existing group or be a part of learning to begin a new group!  Our hope is that each group produces another new group within about a year of when it forms!

Groups meet at different locations and times throughout the week and are available for all ages.

Email us at thejourneyspartanburg@gmail.com if you would like more information on how to get involved or find out how at a Sunday service!

Opportunities for Students and Children

Journey Kidz is our Children's Church program available during our Sunday morning worship hour each week for Nursery - 6th grades.  It is offered on Sunday evenings for children in Nursery - 1st grade.

Overflow is our student ministry. Students meet on Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm.  Teen Gatherings consist of meals, discipleship, music, fellowship, and special outings.

Draw Closer is held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings for children in K - 5th grades who show sincerity about wanting to learn more about following Jesus.  These evenings consist of small group discipleship, crafts, and snacks.

Sidewalk Hope - Sidewalk Hope is a ministry designed to impact children in "fatherless communities" around our city.  A mobile ministry truck travels to sites throughout the week, offering Bible Clubs for children and building relationships with families.

Don't just go to church. Be the church.

We believe that our lives are not about us.  The Journey desires to see each member of our church family connect, grow, serve, and share.  It is important that we not merely come to church, but that we be the church.

Personally, we encourage each person to be the church and seek to influence others spiritually wherever they live, work, and play.  Together, as a church family, we work together to minister in some of our city's toughest areas. Below are ways you can serve:

  • Learn to lead a discipleship group
  • Volunteer with our JourneyKidz ministry
  • Volunteer with Sidewalk Hope (a mobile kids ministry that ministers in downtown neighborhoods)
  • Volunteer with Teen Nights in the City on Tuesday evenings
  • Serve as a driver to help bring people to weekend services and special events
  • Serve with our First Impressions Ministry (greeter, setup, cleanup, building maintenance/repair)
  • Put musical gifts to use with our worship team ministry (vocalists, instrumentalists, A/V assistance, creative design
  • Give to support the many on-going efforts to love our city to life in Christ.

If you don't attend The Journey but still want to serve our community alongside us, consider getting involved in the following areas:

  • Volunteering once a month with Sunday children's ministry
  • Volunteer with Sidewalk Hope in a downtown community
  • Volunteering with Teen Night in the City on Tuesday evenings
  • Volunteer as a driver to help transport people to services once a month
  • Give to support the many on-going efforts to love our city to life in Christ.

Everything we have comes from God.  It has not been given to us to squander, but to invest for His purposes so that it might yield a spiritual return.  Giving for God's purposes reminds us that life is not about us.  It also reminds us that we are not to depend on money for our well-being, but on God who cares and provides for us.  There are 3 ways you can give towards what God is doing in and through The Journey.  All giving is tax-deductible.

1. Online Giving   CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE

This is an easy and convenient option.  You can give one time or set up a recurring account to give on a schedule that best fits your situation.  3% of these fees are required for administrative handling charges and the remainder goes to The Journey.

2. Mail-in Giving

You can mail in your tithe or gift to the following address:  The Journey  150 S. Forest St.  Spartanburg, SC 29306

3. On-site Giving

You can give during a weekend service.  Ushers with baskets are available at the doors as you exit the auditorium.
